Nasrin Sotoudeh has become one more statistic in the sad Evin prison.

We are going through difficult times. Unjust court sessions resulting in harsh prison sentences for those who have been forced into making false confessions and are taken away from their mothers and children and thrown into dark cells.  Days are filled with lies and hypocrisy resulting in human virtue being executed and the executors, unaware of the world, simply killing those who dare to think and speak of freedom.
We are talking about Nasrin Sotoudeh who has just been imprisoned for 11 years. She is a brave human rights and children’s lawyer who now has to leave her own two children behind without a mother to turn to in their time of need. She will be spending the next eleven years of what, up to now, has been a productive life, in Evin prison.

We,
London Supporters of Mourning Mothers, condemn the imprisonment and execution of political prisoners and prisoners of conscience. We also condemn the unjust and excessive prison sentences passed on Nasrin Sotoudeh and Jafar Panahi, the 74 lashes imposed on Shiva Nazar Ahari and  the arbitrary arrests of human rights activists, journalists and women’s rights activists. We condemn the execution of two recent political prisoners which took place on the early morning of Jafa Kazemi and Mohammed Ali Haji aghaie whi did not agree to appear on TV and 'confess'. The tsunami of executions in Iran has no intention to slow down.  We must condemn it and stop it. ٌ
We, London Supporters of Mourning Mothers, would urge you to join us every first Saturday of the month in
Trafalgar Square, London
, from to tell the world that those who were murdered in the line of freedom and democracy for Iran will never be forgotten and also to show our support and solidarity with their bereaved mothers.
